Rethinking ERG Partnership in the AI Era

As an Inclusive workplace practitioner, AI, ethics, and Inclusive workplaces have been top of mind this year. It is not just how companies can use it; there are also some pitfalls to inclusion and our diverse population at work. In the last few months, our monthly Executive Roundtables on business and belonging have focused on technology, AI, and integration into company strategies. We have gathered as people leaders across different industries and small-medium, medium-sized organizations and had a facilitated chat on what they are doing, seeing, and hearing. One thing is sure: we are still in the early stages of AI integration, and there are lots of growth opportunities.

As organizations accelerate their AI implementations, a powerful strategic resource must be leveraged more: Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). Drawing from our recent EER Roundtable discussions with CHROs, CDOs, and CPOs, it’s clear that companies achieving the highest returns on their AI investments and accelerating the leverage opportunities share a common thread — they’ve elevated their ERGs from cultural networking groups to strategic partners.
